You might find Salencia beach under other names such as Lindebarcas or Yendebarcas mainly because that is the name of the stream that flows into the sea here, forming this cove. It’s one of the less known beaches of Cudillero being dwarfed by a very popular neighbor: Del Silencio beach.
It’s pretty easy to get to Salencia beach but my advice is to walk to it and not take the car because the beach has no parking at all and turning the car around on your way back might be difficult.
So, where is Salencia to be found?
In the village of Novellana the road will take you close to the coastline and then splits in two: the one towards West will take you to the L’Airín beach and the one to the East (a brand new cemented one) will take you to… a purifying plant.
No, it wasn’t built for you to have an easy access to the beach, it was built for the plant. That is why the beach has no parking. Nor amenities, nor lifeguard. Nothing.
That’s should not be a problem, few beaches in Cudillero have services, most of them still being wild and unknown.
Getting here from L’Airín is an easy and pleasant walk, the two beaches being separated only by an island called Isla Fornón or Islote El Fariñón.
You cannot get lost if you let Asturplaya show you the path, download our beach app and start exploring!
Once here you will see a small cove (150 meters wide) of boulders, probably empty.
It’s mostly used by locals and fishermen, Salencia being a good fishing spot (some say it’s awesome for underwater fishing too).
Did I forget to mention anything else? Let me know!
