This sandy beach surrounded by dunes is one of the 14 Asturian beaches awarded with the Blue Flag eco-label in 2015. Of great beauty and scenic value, Otur is almost 600m long and is bordered by two rivers which can only increase its charm.
Although I haven’t said anything spectacular about it, this is indeed a special beach. First of all because finding a sandy beach in Valdés is not an easy task and second of all because of the way the extensive sand dunes surround it and blend with it, creating a unique environment with the sea.
It is a beach easy to find and it has all the amenities you might need so you have no excuse not to see it if you happen to be in Valdés or nearby – our beach app AsturPlaya can take you there, download it now!
Some extra info about Otur
Otur is a sandy beach with moderate waves (good for surfing and fishing), 600m long and around 180m wide – it varies a lot with high tide though. It’s a protected natural area where sand dunes, spectacular rocks, grass and sea blend together in a harmonious way.
It’s an accessible beach, easy to find, with parking and amenities: showers, lifeguard, toilets but no beach bars or restaurants – you might find all these in the nearby villages which are very close. There is also a camping a few hundred meters away from the beach.
