A beach of boulders and with strong waves, El Focarón is only accessible at low tide from the neighboring beach of El Garruncho. Since it has no descent and you can only reach it from the neighboring beach it also benefits from its services: showers and toilets, a pretty big parking and lifeguard during the summer months.
You’ll find a lot of restaurants and bars nearby and also accommodation. Its rocks are a a good fishing spot although the waves can get pretty big sometimes.
If you don’t like rocky beaches but do enjoy great views you can drive a few more kilometers towards West and park at the Holy Spirit Hermitage (Ermita del Espíritu Santo) – from there you will see the beach of Focarón and part of the coastline of Muros in all its splendor – our beach app AsturPlaya can take you there, download it now!
If you come prepared for a picnic you will be able to take a snack in the forest nearby – there are tables and benches waiting for you there. The view is great and the silence will allow you to hear the birds!
