El Conexal cove is located right at the entrance in the town of Candás. It’s a rather interesting place since it’s actually what Asturians call a “pedreru” – a beach exclusively made of rocks. It wasn’t like that a few years back but consecutive storms washed away the gravel and sand that covered the rocks and now what is left is what you see in the gallery above.
Another interesting thing about El Conexal is that is it doesn’t exist on any official map although there is an indicator pointing towards it. Or so it seems. But we decided to add it to our beach app Asturplaya to guide you in case you happen to be in Candás and wonder what’s with this weird looking corner 🙂
The limits between these beaches are a bit blurry and El Conexal is no exception. Maybe the lifeguard building is the limit between El Conexal and La Palmera but I honestly don’t know.
The limits do not matter much since these beaches are all practically “glued” to one another and all benefit from the amenities existing at the La Palmera beach: lifeguard, showers, toilets.
The parking is quite big but you can also park in or outside Candás and walk to these beaches, all being surrounded by a beautiful promenade with benches.
Since they are considered urban beaches you will find here plenty of bars, restaurants, hotels and shops. And even a camping right above El Conexal.
Perlora resort is right around the corner and you have plenty of beaches there too (let me remind them to you: Huelgues beach, then Los Curas beach, ending with Carranques beach). As you can see, there’s plenty to do in and around Candás.
